Are work placements available?
At the moment Santander UK does not have any summer placements. Please regularly check our website for further updates.

Will Santander UK obtain a work permit for me?
No, to apply and work for us on any of our graduate opportunities, you must already have the right to work and remain in the UK at the time of application. We will ask you to provide proof of this.

For the Graduate Personal Banking advisor roles you will need to have at least one year eligibility to work in the UK Full time from the start date; for all other graduate opportunities, you will need at least 3 years eligibility on your visa from the start date.

We are unable to accept applications from international graduates or students who require a work permit to work in the UK . We are unable to sponsor visa applications for you, and we are unable to accept applications from anyone in the UK who is on a Highly Skilled Migrant Visa Programme (HSMVP).

When can I start?
Our Graduate Personal Banking Adviser roles have immediate or imminent start dates. The other schemes will commence in autumn 2010.

Do I need to open a bank account with Santander UK?
You do not need a Santander UK bank account to apply. However, if you are successful in your application, you will be expected to open an account and have your salary paid in when you join us.

Will you pay my expenses if I come to an assessment centre?
We will reimburse travel expenses incurred for standard travel to assessment centres up to the first £50. You will need to keep all original receipts for your expenditure for any claim.

Can I defer my offer?
No, all our vacancies are for a start date in 2010.

Is there an age limit for jobs?
No. Opportunities are open to all applicants who demonstrate the aptitude or ability to undertake the roles.

I graduated six years ago, can I still apply?
Yes. We do not have any restrictions on how recently you have to have graduated. We welcome applications from graduates with work experience.

Where am I likely to be located?
Our graduate trainees are required to be fully mobile. Graduates working in our branch network business will be located across the country and will need to be fully flexible and prepared to be based anywhere in the UK. Further location information can be found on the individual programme details.

 







If I am successful will you pay relocation expenses?
We would not normally pay relocation expenses.
